Fodder Analysis

Knowing and understanding the composition of animal feed is a crucial factor in successful animal husbandry. Data obtained from fodder analysis is the ideal basis for a balanced and efficient feeding approach. The Laimburg Research Centre facilities offer:

  • fodder analysis including dry and concentrated feed, grass and corn silage
  • analysis of crude protein, fibre, ash and lipids using the Weende method
  • analysis of fertilisers, irrigation water and sewage sludge
  • structural substance analysis: NDF, ADF and ADL
  • assessment of the fermentation properties of silage feeds
  • determination of principal and trace elements in animal feed
  • development and optimisation of new methods of analysis
